The 17th Annual Chekhov Theatre Institute
Youth Program
Aug. 1-6, 2010
Sun. 5-9pm
Mon-Fri. 9-9
with a work-in-progress presentation

We are very excited to make a special offer to up to
6 dynamic actors ranging from 16-18 years old!

Because we believe the Michael Chekhov Technique is wonderfully freeing and inspiring, we are eager for young actors to experience Chekhov during their formative stages.  Want to know what others think of this program? Click here.

At less than $8/hr, this is a rare opportunity for young actors to learn indepth from world renown master teachers.

This program is rigorous and requires deeply committed and passionate participants.  The majority of our participants include theatre arts faculty and professional actors and acting teachers, some of whom are training to teach this amazing technique.  Our hope is that by offering partial scholarships to a select group of young actors, that the entire ensemble will benefit from the interaction of the variety of ages and stages of development.

Rather than make the application into a competition, we are simply offering the $300 scholarship to the first 6 youth artists to submit a complete registration. The full fee for the 48 hour intensive is $675, and will remain available after the 6 scholarship participants are enrolled. However, those first 6 applicants will save, paying only $425 INCLUDING THE $40 MATERIALS FEE.

I know that many of our very talented youth are in plays during this workshop.  If this is the case for you, consider that you will likely be able to attend the full day time program which is from 9-5:45 and several of the evening seminars. the faculty may arrange a separate session to makeup for missed seminars due to performance commitments.

Don't know what this technique is about? --Well there is plenty to read on this website and we suggest you look at the Starting to Learn Link
